Our permaculture class learned how to propagate strawberries from runners today. We used three methods. First we guided some runners to good locations and pinned them in place. For the second we cut some runners that had root nodes and put them in a shallow tray with water. The third method was to cut some runners that had roots starting or more root nodes and put them into pots with potting mix (no fertilizer). The third method will require more attention to prevent the soil from drying out.
